Everyone wants winning seo strategies. So here you go …

1) It’s NOT as Much Content as Possible Everyone knows content is key. But not every one knows the trick with content is not to have "as much as possible". Rather you want pages with content built around focused and under served keyword phrases.

2) How Do You Spell…? Believe you me surfers can’t spell. Focus on common misspellings and you’ll have a rich vein of traffic to mine. Often pretty much all to yourself. For example…

Notice 20% of all Overture searches were done using the wrong word! Making misspellings a great keyword marketing strategy.

3) Describe in 25 Words or Less Stick to 25 words or less Meta Tag descriptions and Yahoo will display them word for word. Sweet!

4) Drive It Home Make sure you use your theme or primary keyword phrase at least once on every page.

5) No Naked Photos! Label all your photos and images with keywords in the ALT tag. Use hyphens to separate the words. This makes a lot of sense with people doing more searches for images and search engines trying to accommodate them. This idea is pure dynamite for graphically oriented sites.

6) What’s In a Name? Plenty. Name your web pages and folders to match the focus keyword phrase of that page.

7) No Cookie Cutters Allowed Vary page size. Also keep in mind some swear Google tends to fall in love with smaller pages. Keep them under 20k and test the results.

8) What Are You? When linking to a page on your site, try using the TITLE of that page as the link text. Doing so reinforces the relevance of the target page for those search engines that take link text into consideration. An easy way to boost search engine placement.

9) This Ain’t No Beauty Pageant. Search engines prefer simple, Plain Jane pages! That means Java, Flash, image maps, and excessive graphics are out.

10) Theme It! To emphasize your theme, pick 5-7 of your most important keywords and make sure they appear at least once on every page. Obviously you'd also create individual pages for each of them too.

11) Less is More Forget the popular generic keyword terms. Sure they get much more traffic. But most of the money is to be made focusing on phrases or related phrases. In other words don’t target "dogs". Target "greyhound rescue", "miniature collies", "emergency pet care" and the like.

12) Only One Per Customer Once you have picked the keyword phrases that give you your best ROI, ONLY focus on one keyword phrase per web page.

13) Wanna Link? Well thought out "Link to Us" pages are worth the effort. Sure it takes a bit of time to come up with a variety of text links, banners or other graphics, but it is time well spent. Doing so also insures you get the coveted keyword specific links that will help boost your site’s reputation.

14) Emphasize It! With feeder sites or perhaps internal pages, forget fluff words in the Title Tag. Test how your pages rank with just the keyword phrase in the title tag. That’s it. Just the keyword phrase.
