Any decent collection of seo strategies should work like a trampoline. They should help you bounce up in Google’s rankings. Not leave you running around like your hair’s on fire.

Since there are only three basic seo strategies in your typical search engine marketing plan there’s good news. It’s simple to get a jump on your competitors even if it ain’t necessarily easy. Simply focus on:

1) On page optimization
2) Links from internal pages
3) Links from other sites

Let’s look at each of those seo strategies in a bit more detail.

Google SEO Strategies: On Page Optimization

On page optimization simply means you’ve laced your web page with the keyword phase you’re optimizing for.

Basically you want to be sure to put the target keyword in the

Title tag
Heading tag
Sub heads

Plus sprinkle it liberally throughout the content.

I’ve helped sites do nothing but tweak those tags and end up in with top 10 listings.

Still there’s only so many tweaks you can make and so many places you dare stick your target keyword phrase. Or else the content will start to look goofy. Even to Google.

Besides sometimes on page optimization will only carry you so far. Which in your niche may not be far enough. So once you’ve tweaked, fiddled with, and maxed out the on page optimization you may have to look elsewhere for more bounce. Which means you have to move onto the second of three seo strategies for better search engine ranking.

Google SEO Strategies: Links From Internal Pages

When I’ve designated a page to go out to battle a bevy of fierce competitors, I try to get as many other pages on my site linking to it as possible. Doing so helps jump it’s pagerank.

Also by using proper anchor text in the links to it you can give it’s page reputation a boost. Making it very clear to Google what this page is about.

Eventually the more pages I add to my site with a link to my focus page the higher it will bounce in the rankings.

Of course the drawback is you have to add pages. Which you may not always have time to do.

Then too you’ve got to be patient and wait for Google to find them, index them and assign them pagerank.

So while you’re waiting you may want to unleash the third seo strategy in this trampoline troika.

Google SEO Strategies: In bound Links From Other Sites

The final piece of any rock solid list of seo strategies is inbound links from other sites. The more the better.

Here you’re only limited by your tolerance for pain as it’s honestly a pain to constantly be seeking links and managing all that goes with that.

Even so, I’ve found external links with proper anchor text are the best way to zoom higher in Google. Especially when you get them from high pagerank sites. Since a relatively small handful of links can do wonders for your ranking.

This is why I feel it’s vital to check out potential link partners BEFORE you embark on your assault on a given niche. To make sure there are sites you can exchange links with.

Plus once you build up the pagerank of a given page, it’s yours to funnel to your other pages to help them rank better too. But that’s an seo strategy for another time.

Anyway there’s no mumbo-jumbo and nothing mystical and magical to these basic seo strategies. Just focus on your

1) On page optimization
2) Links from internal pages
3) Links from other sites

Maybe now you see why I say going for higher Google rankings is as easy as jumping on a trampoline. Unleash this deceptively simple bunch of seo strategies and there’s no telling how high your site will squirt in the rankings. Making for one powerful traffic stopper.
