Dumb Search Engine Marketing Mistake

It can’t be a coincidence.

Three times in the past week I’ve gotten panicked emails from people who have discovered they have done something less than smart because a site ranking higher than theirs did it.

Do what you know you need to do and sooner or later I’ll be willing to bet you’ll overtake them. That is, continue to pour on the content and aggressively pursue in bound links with the proper link text.

And before you know it almost like magic a rolling Google update will plop your site ahead of theirs.

Leaving them to wonder where you came from and how you got there.

While you smile down on them knowingly. Awash in the traffic they USED to get.
