Google Marketing Running on One Wheel or Two
When it comes to online marketing are you riding a bicycle or a unicycle?
If you’re smart you’ll be perched on the former. Because the balancing act the latter requires may be more than you can handle. Perhaps derailing your online marketing efforts completely before they’ve even begun even.
Okay enough of this bicycle/unicycle nonsense. Here’s what I’m asking:
Are you dependent on free search traffic while all but ignoring the sometimes disregarded step sister, paid search? Because it costs, uh, money?
If you are I’ll bet YOU’RE leaving money on the table.
You see, where possible, I feel online marketing is best run as a two tracked affair.
Especially if yours is a new site.
That way while you’re waiting for your listings to climb the ranks in Google, digging up links and adding content you can get an immediate profit boost by playing the Adwords game?
Then too this works especially well with tightly niched up sites.
You know maybe themes like female body builders, cross bow hunting, or horse health insurance? Or a Greece Travel Guide site.
After you get it up what’s to stop you from doing some cheap bidding on such related keywords as
greece travel
athens greece travel
travel island greece
greece travel agent
greece travel guide
greece travel package
travel agent in greece
Because you can easily develop a healthy list of "lesser keywords" like that to bid on.
Which gives you instant broad market coverage online for a host of keywords. Without costing you an arm and a leg. Meaning you can probably land top 8 listings in Adwords for lesser keywords for 10 cents or less a pop.
Those who have bought into this two track online marketing tact when I’ve suggested it have reported instant traffic jumps. Ten to 12 times as many unique visitors is not unusual. No waiting required.
Okay but maybe you’re not comfortable with your Adwords know how or lack thereof. Got you covered.
Here’s the rantings of a guy who nets $6K a month selling affiliate products with adwords, overture and their minor cousins. You’ll find some priceless gems buried in several months of blog postings - which alas stopped just as unexpectedly as they started. But it’s still a good place to get up to speed on the basics.
