keyword marketing
Keyword Marketing Is More Than Keyword Order
Keyword order means just what you'd expect. You score more if the words in the text are in the same order as the words in your target keyword phrase. Not that different from keyword proximity either.
|
Using our example with "doll houses":
"We have a wide selection of doll houses."
"Our houses for dolls are durable."
If "doll houses" was your keyword phrase, the former would rank you higher than the later when taking keyword order into consideration.
Now before your eyes glaze over, let me hasten to add
|
Yes keyword density, prominence, proximity and order are a bit arcane.
Yes it sometimes is like discussing how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
But then too yes it all counts - some. How much you want to concern yourself with any of this depends on how competitive your target keyword phrases are. Obviously the more competitive they are the more weapons you have to bring to bear. Weapons referred to as keyword density, keyword proximity, keyword prominence.
Final Point: Remember keyword marketing, or getting your pages optimized for the best keywords, is the easy part. Even if you get every aspect of on page optimization right you're maybe only 20 - 25% of the way toward impressing Google. And wrangling a top search engine from them. The tough part is getting links. Depending on your niche, maybe lots of links. So while keyword marketing is a good start, it's just that. A start.
