"Do Link Building for SHOW. Do Content for DOUGH."
You're right. The title’s a variation on the words to live by you hear golfers mutter. "You drive for show and putt for dough."
In SEO, as you can see it's similar yet different. Maybe not as clever as the golf one. But look what I had to work with. Oh and in case that isn't clear let me explain.
When I say "Do link building for show", that means you want links to help boost your listings in the rankings. So they show up higher, get noticed and hopefully clicked on. That’s the role link building plays.
But getting traffic without converting it does you absolutely no good, right? That's where content comes in. It’s content’s job to build credibility and hopefully induce the sale. So the sale is the "dough" part.
You need both to pocket more money. You might look at link building is the ying and content as the yang of seo.
