Now to get a feel for traffic counts I used visitor counts from Metrics Market. In that case the higher the number the better. Plus I've listed the site’s Alexa ranking where the lower numbers are better.

And yes at times I did pick PR extremes to prove my point. Other times that wasn’t necessary.

I’ll also admit this is only a snap shot of these sites on a given day. Check the next day and the results will be different. But I’d assert not THAT different.

Plus this study doesn’t take into account the number of links on the page. Which would have some bearing on the PR worth to you. Meaning the more links on a links page the less PR and ranking boost you’d get from the link.

Nor did I factor in where a site ranks in Google. Because that’s not part of the equation used when looking for linking partners.

Finally, I used one of my sites traffic-test-tube.com. Because I know it inside and out. So it gives me a point of reference when looking at web site popularity of other sites.
