Because I can put any PR I get to good use. Even if it’s from a site totally outside my niche. Since once the PR gets inside my site I can use it to rank well on a multitude of keywords. Just like a money launder make dirty money sparkling clean.

Obviously traffic always comes in handy.

While link reputation can boost the linked to page if the link is from the proper site.

Links will help you rank well in both Google and in Yahoo. Acquiring them is the seo strategy that separates the men from the boys.
