Buying Links: PR Pricing

A good first question is how much?

Well, the primary rule of thumb for PR pricing when buying links, particularly if you’re working directly with the site owner, is there is no rule of thumb.

That’s right. You’ll find prices range across the board.

So unfortunately I can’t give you any kind of guidance other than to lamely say a PR 5 is worth more than a PR 4. But it’s worth less than a link from a page showing a PR 6.

Yet you’ll find the market for PR and buying links is like any other market. In that you can find bargains if you know where to look. Especially if you’re buying links from a private seller.

In fact, I just "leased" 50 PR 4 and PR 5 links for $10 a month. Sourced from 14 sites. (Oh and don’t email me to find out who. Cause I ain’t talking. About who I bought them from or the site they’re pointed at.)

Now with that many one way links I expect my brand new site to come in at least PR 5 right out of the chute with the next PR update. (With rankings and traffic following soon there after.) Making it a snap to attract free linking partners from that point on. Which I’ll naturally pursue with a vengeance.

Still price isn’t always a good indicator of value.

For instance, say you have a choice of paying $100 to be the only link on a PR 5 page vs $10 to be on a PR 5 page with 20 other links. I hope it’s obvious that the first option gives more PR value for your money.

Nor does it really matter if the link is on the home page or not.

So those are a couple things to keep in mind about price. Vague I know. But the best I can do.
