Second Step of Striving for Top Google Ranking

It used to be by now your listings should be sticking. New pages should be showing up regularly.

But not anymore. Most likely you're in the Google Sandbox. And it's gonna take a while to get out.

Then too using the Google toolbar it's unlikely you'll show any pagerank (PR). That public view of PR is now only updated about every 90 days.

And no, that lack of pagerank doesn't mean you've been banned by Google. A common misconception. You simply don't have any PR yet.

But that's okay. We're making progress.

This is the time to go for directory links Identify directories that pass PR. The payoff for this effort, in the form of top Google ranking, will show up in the coming months.

With any luck after the next PR update your home page should sport some kind of PR. No matter how anemic. Even pagerank of two is progress. (Again, your results may vary.)

Oh boy. Hold me back.

But yet, like I said, this is more progress toward a top Google ranking. Since you've only pursued links from directories as I awaited the completion of my "links getting" secret weapon. (We'll discuss that at another time.)

Given all that, my Google rankings at this point are anything but the stuff of a top 10 search engine ranking.

Yet this is what you can expect as you climb the ladder toward top Google ranking.

It's not glamorous. At times it resembles more of a whimper than a bang. But this is what's involved in the early stages of the typical countdown to top Google ranking.
